CRI, or Color Rendering Index, describes how accurately a light source renders colors compared with a reference source.

10. Start With a Commercial Lighting Audit

 

Walk through your business and document what you have.

For each area, record:

  • Bulb or lamp type
  • Fixture type
  • Quantity
  • Wattage
  • Voltage
  • Operating hours
  • Color temperature
  • Ballast information, where applicable
  • Dimming or control requirements
  • Ceiling height
  • Problems with the existing lighting

Then take pictures.

Photograph:

  1. The existing bulb
  2. The markings printed on it
  3. The fixture
  4. The entire room or area

That last photo matters.

Knowing which bulb you have tells us what fits.

11. Don't Replace 1,000 Bulbs Before Testing 10

 

This is one of the simplest ways to avoid an expensive mistake.

Before converting an entire building, test the proposed lighting in a representative area.
