Why Globe LEDs are Better than Incandescents

Why Globe LEDs are Better than Incandescents
In the average U.S. home, lighting accounts for about 20 percent of the electric bill.

The LED globe bulb is the energy-efficient solution to incandescent light bulbs. The globe is an ideal bulb for most decorative fixtures, offering directional light, perfect for pendant fixtures, vanities or anywhere an incandescent globe light is used.

Many incandescent globes were affected by the EISA energy laws that prevent standard incandescent from being made or imported into the USA. The LED is an ideal replacement.

Did You Know?

In the average U.S. home, lighting accounts for about 20 percent of the electric bill. Americans can save money and protect the environment by installing energy saving lighting.

If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an energy-saving bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year, more than $600 million in annual energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars.

To determine your total energy savings for lighting, use the following calculation (the national average energy cost per kwh is $0.11):

  • Original Bulb Wattage – Replacement Bulb Wattage = TOTAL WATTAGE SAVED
  • Total Wattage Saved x Average Rated Life / 1000 = TOTAL KILOWATT HOURS SAVED OVER BULB LIFE
  • Total Kilowatt Hours Saved Over Lamp Life x Energy Cost Per Kwh = TOTAL $ SAVED OVER LIFE OF THE BULB
